Is this program free?

Yes, the Blurred Minds Academy program is 100% free for all Queensland-based high schools.

Is this also for private high schools?

Yes, this is available for free to all private high schools in Queensland.

Is this for high schools outside of Queensland?

No, this is only funded for all private and state high schools in Queensland.

What are the topics covered in this program?

The main topics covered in the Blurred Minds Academy are vaping, alcohol, and marijuana.

I am not a teacher; can I use Blurred Minds Academy?

Yes, many non-teachers already take advantage of the resources available in the Blurred Minds Academy. You would need to gain access through your school’s designated coordinator.

Is Blurred Minds Academy accessible and suitable for students with special needs?

Blurred Minds Academy is useable with accessibility tools, such as screen readers. However, there are a couple elements in some of the modules, such as the games, that are not accessibility friendly. We are always striving to improve, so if you find something that isn’t accessibility friendly, please let us know.

Is Blurred Minds Academy appropriate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students?

Yes. Blurred Minds Academy resources are designed to empower teachers to deliver more engaging alcohol and drug education lessons. Teachers can modify and tailor the presentation to their students’ specific needs.

Are all modules delivered online?

Each lesson includes an online component that students can complete at their own speed, which is then followed by a teacher-led classroom session that builds on the learnings from the online activity.

What level of literacy is required from students to complete the online modules?

Modules are written to cater for Year 7, 8, 9 and 10 reading level comprehension. Students are expected to be able to navigate the online component which requires reading, listening, comprehension and basic computer skills.

What Year levels does Blurred Minds Academy cater too?

The Blurred Minds Academy features 13 gamified modules which are mapped to the Australian Curriculum for year 7, 8 , 9 and 10.

I am no longer the school coordinator, what do I do?

Please contact the Blurred Minds team with the request to remove your coordinator status and provide the name and email of the new school coordinator. Submit your request here.
